Windowsill plant tray

One of the shops that I get my supplies from has his aquatic plants in  wall mounted display with the one side fronted by a window. The plants grow emerged with only the roots in the water.  I thought that this would mean that newly bought plants would take a while to adapt to the new water world once planted, but truth be told these seem to be very healthy. More than most bought from shops that just dump them into the display tanks.  Since I have a windowsill that gets some sun - I thought why not make a custom plant / grow tray ...

The idea is to make this from normal plate glass - same width as a typical 3 ft tank i.e 915 mm.  Not sure what I am going to be doing about circulation at this stage.
